knowledgeable. He said he hears VT will fire Fuente at the end of the year and go after Elliot and/or Venables. I said "good luck wit dat". He also agreed with me that Fuente was a good coach, but the culture problems were worse than people realized and keeping Bud Foster did not turn out to be a good idea. VT wouldn't be a bad spot for Elliot to start his HC career, but I doubt he goes there at this point. Wherever he goes, there will be problems, or else they wouldn't have a HC opening.
I had daydreams about going to this game back at the start of season. This will be the first Tigers/VT game I've missed since I've lived here. I've been to quite a few cold, rainy, windy games there. The hardest rain I'd ever been in before the epic ND game was there, back in the Terry Allen days. I got hit in the back with a wet program thrown by a Hokie fan who took exception to me standing up and cheering my Tigers.
