program back 8 to 10 years." You know those former Clemson coaches and their finesse offenses just don't measure up to Michigan and their smash-mouth football, right Des?

He didn't mention Clemson. They were talking about whether or not Harbaugh is bringing Michigan back to its former glory. D. Howard was reminiscing about Schembechler. Then he said Rich Rodriguez and his "finesse" style of play set the Michigan program back 8 to 10 years. It just occurred to me at that moment that Howard really does use the term "finesse" to mean a team that isn't as great as his Michigan team. In fact, he thinks finesse can set your program back a decade. I would love it if Clemson got a chance to "finesse" Michigan this year. Howard would be crying his eyes out.

going back to the Lloyd Carr days. It’s funny how Clemson is supposed to be “finesse” but we keep winning championships.

Didn't Lloyd Carr leave in 2007 or 2008?

Oct 13, 2018, 11:08 AM

It's hard to believe that it's only been 10 or 11 years since Michigan was a perennial top ten power.

Yeah that’s sounds about right. They were going downhill before then.

Give me a guy like David Pollack who has actually hit somebody and has demonstrated that he can be objective any day. Desmond just holds and promotes jealous grudges.
