New topic- where does Trevor Lawrence

Posted: May 21, 2019 5:34 PM

So I am not trying to rush his tenure by any means. But for football talk, when he gets drafted who will be that team that drafts Trevor number 1 when he declares?..
I personally think that the Steelers wind up with him.

The Steelers won't be bad enough to get him imo.

I think he's looking at the Giants, Jets, Jaguars, or Cardinals.

Probably an outside shot of the Bengals, Lions, or Redskins.

I've heard panther rumors as Cam looks to have a short career possibly with the constant hits taking it's toll. If I had to bet though I'd pick from the Bucs, Bills (please god no), Bengals (lotta B's here). Don't see the Jag's defense letting them be the worst in the league and can possibly see Oakland making a move to buy the top pick.

Strong secondary teams. Chargers, Ravens, Vikings or 49ers depending on their guys being healthy.

Most likely, he will go to whoever has the 1st pick in 2021!***

QB in the last ~2 years. I don't think the Giants will give up on Daniel Jones that quickly after taking him 6th and planning to bring him along kind of slowly as Eli is phased out. I do think they will be terrible though.

A few really bad teams will draft Tua, Herbert, and Fromm next year and take themselves out of the running for Lawrence.

I think TL is the kind of QB that somebody would trade up to #1 to take so really any team drafting in the top 5ish could be in play, and it's tough to know who will be terrible in the NFL two years from now.

The Jaguars, Bengals, and Bucs will all likely be moving on from QBs in the next year or two. The Dolphins could be looking for a QB in a year or two if Rosen doesn't work out. The Panthers could be in play if Cam's shoulders is really F'd up and Will Grier doesn't look like he can grow into an NFL starter. The Bills and Jets should also know what they have (or don't have) in Allen and Darnold by that point as well, so it's possible one or both could be looking for a QB again.

I think the question is whether or not a team will

tank to get him. If you're already looking at a bad season, why not go for a Cleveland level fail and know that you can take TL, or get a massive trade deal if you have a QB that you think is good.

i think it will most likely be the usual suspects.....

Bills, Jags, Jets, Cleveland and Raiders

All have young qbs w upside, but who would be suprised if they failed miserably.

While I don't hope this happens, I can see the panthers struggling big time. With the injury, Cam doesn't shine this season , they bring him back for one more year just to make sure. Will Grier isn't the answer for any team. TL would look good in the black and blue...

exactly

Any team that is in the running for the worst record in 2020 will immediately tank. Whoever tanks the hardest wins. No one who earns that 1st overall pick will trade away the right to draft TL.

My best guess: Detroit Lions

Most likely Panthers.***

Watch out for Jerry Jones and the Cowboys. He'll do what it takes if Dak doesn't step way up in the next couple years.

Obviously he'll go to the team who has 1st Pick (or trades up to get 1st Pick) in the 2021 Draft (I'm hoping it's 2022 Draft, but realistically most kids this good leave after 3 years).

Fate would seem to indicate that it's going to be the Panthers, just look at his life so far. Born in Tennessee, went to school in Georgia, going to college in South Carolina; if you he continues on his anti-clockwise life journey, then it has to be the Panthers next.

He goes first in the draft in 2 years and the Steelers have very littlw chance of being that team. The Giants, Dolphin, etc.may be in the hunt.

With 32 teams as a possibility and 2 years before any of this matters .... I say forget it and enjoy the kid while he's in a Clemson Tiger uniform .
