Tiger LeCroy.
What makes people think that he would not be a great fit for Clemson? Because he spent too much time under Jack and will do it the same way? Not necessarily and so what if he does.
The two big names that keep popping up are Corbin and Sully. Guess what? Both were JL disciples here at Clemson that went off the farm and did HUGE things with/for other programs. That's no accident folks. Say what you will, but the CJL Coaching Tree is a real, proven thing.
How awful would it be to see LeCroy go somewhere else and build a national power like Corbin and Sully did? We'd be on here b***ching about how we let that happen. Think Dabo coaching Miami...
LeCroy is a master recruiter, a solid X's and O's guy, a former Tiger and Clemson grad and he is only getting minimal love. Why? What is wrong with this picture?

you are correct in saying that both coaches went on to do huge things. BUT, IMO, they are the reason that Clemson was successful when they were here. The accident was that both did leave and went on to do just fine, while Clemson went downhill after they left.
There is a pattern with JL. He did great with Wilhelm's players, then did well with great assistants. But when the good assistants were no longer there, the program went downhill. As you say, that is no accident, folks. JL was lost without his assistants..and not just Corbin and Sully. And lately he found himself in a place with not so good assistants and it showed. That is FACT.
LeCroy is a great recruiter, but him as hitting coach was not so good. The numbers show that. I am not sure Lecroy has the experience yet to be a head coach at a big school.
Yes, he has had some highly rank recruiting classes the last several years, but there is nothing to show for it. And yes he has had some success at Clemson and other colleges, but the last several of years everything about Clemson baseball has gone downhill.

As long as I can get back on the FIRE SOMEBODY bandwagon before those horrifically painful withdrawal symptoms kick in.

No Perno. Was a Monte fan but did not know about his gamecock feathers. What guarantee to we have if we hire him and Holbrook is canned next year that he won't pursue that job too ?

Just because a person coached at a school it does not make them a fan or attached to that University.
Would you still consider Brad Scott a Gamecock?

but.....Monte Lee coaching under Tanner....he learned from one of the best.
I think any coach can have a love and be a huge fan of the school that signs his check. Us fans think of them as rivals, but coaches, and most players, do not think that way.

i hope we didn't fire one of the best coaches in the country

To end up with one of those 2. That should be cause to fire the AD. A good AD would have already had someone who had agreed to take the job before he pulled the trigger on the firing. Otherwise, he risks ending up with egg on his face. Hopefully he did and we're just waiting for their season to end.

IMO Lee is one of the best up and coming coaches out there.

He's been a HC for 7 years already and is only 38 years old. If he really wants the job and is committed to being here, I'd welcome him to put on the orange and purple and be a Tiger.

Just not sold on him as a recruiter. Most of the guys he gets are ones that think they are going to an ACC or SEC school and end up not getting offered.

Perno? What is the fascination? He was 160-189-1 in SEC play.

One is a real candidate the other is not.
Also just because you coach at a school it doesnt make you a "gamecock"
