the problem with that is police do not investigate simple property crimes, anywhere. Their job is to file a report for your insurance company and go about their merry way. And even if this guy where the thief, he did not deserve to be shot in the street like a dog.

i agree with you then. I was robbed once when I was in atlanta. i knew exactly who it was and the cops did not give 2 shits. i was like "are you even going to dust for prints?", and they just kind of laughed at me and said "we do not do that".
It costs me $13 a months for 100k in property loss on my renters insurance. I just don't see myself getting all that upset if I came home and my TV and speakers where missing. I guess if I had children in the home I may take it a little more seriously.

I think most people agree that carrying assault rifles at protests are a little overboard.
But if black people did the same as the white people the other week, then the outcome would be the same. Not a single shot was fired.
What threats were they yelling at cops? Like were they saying that I'm going to shoot you? It sounds like you were there with how much you apparently know about the protests.

They're really fun, and so informative and helpful, but they lose their beneficial appeal when they get all muddled together. So put that one on hold and lets deal with the relevant one of the moment. You can bring that one back out when we get through with this one, I promise:
If a credible woman accuses a Dem politician of sexual assault, do we believe the victim? Is that 'us too'?
Oh yes, I realize he'll be cleared, whether he did it or not. I got that. But do we believe the victim? Do we have Senate hearings and national TV time with her lawyers sitting beside her? And do we march the Dem politician in on live TV and sit him down to be grilled by Senators? Or maybe its not the Senate; substitute for whatever similar forum one likes. And do we do all this in, say, October?

A generalized "hey, all you racist ######## in here" question about a made up situation is fairly met with a more specifically addressed question about an actual situation. I mean, your question is not really about racism, is it? You are irritated at some people on the board, I assume justifiably, and found a way to gig them, perhaps. Fine. We're just having fun in here. I gigged back. All's fair in love and war once we dive into the hypothetical with no purpose other than to stir the pot. So lets don't pretend that anything other than that is what is happening in the thread. No Pulitzers for ground breaking interrogation to be found here. But sure, you should ask me to answer the question.
I think the question was about black people having a protest with guns. No, I don't think white people and black people would line up on opposite sides of the street and start shooting each other, if that's what you mean. Might it happen anecdotally? I don't know. We can start trading stats on who is actually shooting who with hand guns, I suppose. Care to look at that? My guess is no.
The safest person on the planet is a white person passing another white person on the street.
The next safest is a black person passing a white person.
Next is a white person passing a black person.
Finally is a black person passing a black person.
That is just what the stats say. I do not for a second believe that there is a genetically racial cause for those stats. I do not even claim to know all the reasons for them, though I think I know some. I am just saying that if a blanket "aren't you a hypocritical racist" charge is thrown out there one has to recognize what is happening around the hypothetical situation you proposed.

Oh, I was definitely throwing a big fat cricket on a hook into this pond. That's no secret. And I got some bites from the usual suspects. The Capt. Crash bass is the easiest large mouth racist bass to catch.
What do I think would happen? I think they would have been met with much more force than the white guys, and I think the folks on here who championed the white guys would sing a much different tune about them.

Pennsylvania Ave carrying guns and we talk about the 2nd Amendment. Black guys show up with guns and we talk about riots. There is no getting around that.
It is good that you ask those questions. If we don't face them and talk about them we don't get anywhere. I don't mind saying that the idea of systemic racism is way overblown, and that the AOC's of the world aren't doing minorities any favors. However, if that is the case, and if racism remains a matter of the individual heart if not the law, then we have to face it there, do we not? Your questions do that.
So, in truth - vs the fun lounge bickering we allow ourselves - I'm glad you ask the questions you do. Go for it. I look forward to seeing your posts and answers, even if it seems all I do is argue. I think that's the reason gov passes out permits. Imo, those long guns don't belong in public places other than carrying them home, back to the shops for repair, to shooting ranges or other locations for practice or to hunt.
I think it was better for them to have left the long guns at home but your hypothetical situation is not comparing apples to oranges. Those Michigan protesters were not protesting police they were protesting the governor.
No need to come back at me with your rhetoric about the guns. I already said they shouldn't have been there. They have the right but just because I can legally to call you a 'sumbich,' does mean I am right to do so.
BTW, I view BLM's rights equal to those of the people who protested in Michigan.
