UNC win out and take the 2 spot. Duke lose out and NC St lose one or two. We would be tied with Duke for third and be 1-1 against UNC and they would be 0-2. Both of us would be 0-1 against UVA.

Duke owns tie breaker against us since they beat us.

To finish 3rd we need to win out, NC State needs to lose 1 and UNC has to lose out.

Then we can automatically clinch a top 4 seed, regardless of what State does...and if State drops one, then we get the 3.
If Miami can somehow do it on Tuesday, this theory will move full speed ahead

in the 4 spot for the double bye, I like our odds better of beating NCSU coming off a 5/12v13 win vs sitting idle while they play-- it would end up hurting later if we made a deep run but believe it would be an advantage in that game. That said, the teams that are potentially sitting in that 12/13 slot will not be easy. A ND, BC, GT would be a tough out. ND especially could make a very deep run if they have everyone back. Other than WF or Pitt, any team is capable of making to a Quarterfinal game and there are probably 11 capable of making a Semi.

i just dont like the "double bye". its too long to sit while other teams get to play and can get hot. On the contrary, if we get the double bye and the 5 seed LOSES, i like playing the low seed after playing 2 days in a row
