how did High Point get in above us?

Mar 15, 2016, 9:20 PM

Did they win a tournament, we are no means a good team, but we would beat the bricks off them

Lots and lots of auto-bids make for lots and lots of crappy games in the first round or two...

The Panthers even though they lost in the semis of the Big South Tournament got into NIT by winning the Big South Regular Season Championship

We had our own destiny in are hands and blew it, losing to below average teams at the end of the season, shoot we had an 18 point lead on Jawja Tech and they came back and beat us in OT! We do not deserve even the NIT!

the way we played down the stretch we are exactly where we should be.

We were terrible in Nov, Dec, February and March.

Nobody to blame but our fans, as some on this board have suggested.

Speaking entirely for myself, I was disappointed in my defense performance and my free throw shooting percentage this year. I've got to get better if I have any hope of saving Brad's job.

Stop it!

For crying out loud, we were picked to finish dead last, but we finished EIGHTH instead. We should be dancing in the streets. The key to success, you see, is to keep the bar as low as possible; then you can't really fail, and anything better than total failure is viewed as a huge success!

Yes...the team exceeded expectations in league play....

Mar 16, 2016, 11:02 AM

but that doesn't make me feel ANY BETTER about going 5 - 8 in our last thirteen games (3 - 6 in the last nine games) and in the process pi$$ing-away any possibility of playing in the post-season.

They might beat us, once Brownlee gets told he is coming back for next year the team stops winning. They must have a better basketball tradition, better resources, and they are a more attractive recruiting destination.

The NIT made a change to admit any team that won it's conference regular season title, but didn't make the NCAA tournament. This has diluted the field somewhat with small conf. teams.
