I'm guessing AIX will get the ax, and RHEL pricing will get huge and support will blow.

I don’t speak nerd. I do have nerds that help translate though if needed.***

Started with RedHat Fedora etc....

and hate them all now. Was awesome even a few years back but for what I do, GUI is a little slower but can do more commands at the same time. Still have to jump in from time to time when the GUI doesn't work for our blades. Nothing like copy/paste though with initial turn up thru line command. Red Hat has come a looooong way in the last 10 years or so!

Its certainly stable.

I have about 2200 RedHat boxes, and >99% are RHEL 7.x. Its rare to0 hear of any of them that have OS issues. App issues--yes. OS issues, not much. We're presently using Satellite to keep them patched and its pretty seamless.

No thanks, my Zip Drive is still humming strong.***

Did:

Red Hat
Ruby on Rails (has its own platform/interpreter)
C++, C#, C
even Basic

stuff on .Net platform

C stuff still closer to the machine and more efficient for me

Of course... started on IBM 360/370 then s3 and up through iSeries with OS2 and DB2.

Retired now... so thrilled to have all that in the rear view mirror.

Y'all have fun whilst I have another cold one. :)
