One can sell stock because of Market Makers, companies who transact shares all day long to provide a smooth buy/sell procedure. Knight Trading is but one of many.

I saw the Guard on TV which is deployed in NY. Those guys are delivering food and service to the people so citizens who are self quarantined have necessities. I didn't see a weapon, they are servants. This talk of marshall law is rhetoric which should never be a part of a reasonable person's conversation.
