Ordering class ring- need advice

So I’m ordering my Clemson ring now. Graduated in 2016 MBA but was too UDP then to afford it.
Anyway, wondering about the metal options. From what I have seen most men choose the Yellow Gold color?
Is this the usual choice? Silver less expensive of course but I kinda like the traditional yellow gold.

Cost savings aside, I just think the white gold ones are a lot less Ted Dibiase than the gold ones.

Unless you plan to wear it for a long long long time. Wore mine for a short while. Moved somewhere where it looked silly wearing such a big ring (plus my body outgrew the ring).
Found it in a box many years later and resold for gold value (pretty sure I made a profit).

stone. The 10K is harder and preserves the detail of the ring longer, though mine is getting blurred from wearing daily since '79. And the black stone sits up a lil from the gold surrounding it, and can get chipped. Plus my Dad's was the black enameled too.

great uncle's (early 70s) is enamel and my great-great-great uncle (1918 i think) is enamel but it is MUCH smaller of a ring. Mine is the stone which eventually chipped and finally got repaired.
