Smith may never dress for the Gamecocks. Could be drafted in the MLB draft next year. Kid can flat fly in the outfield and swings a pretty good stick.

Yes but they have several 4 stars receivers on their roster now and supposedly are going to get a 4 and 5 star receivers soon. Go figure.

[ in reply to this kids actually pretty good, danged coots why would u ] |

SCar was the last school to offer him. The kid has offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, LSU, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Tennessee. SCar is the last to offer and, he jumps on it. Conventional wisdom says that would hurt SCar's chances. Sheesh.

that's the reality... some kids grow up favoring a school... not much you can do about it.

stopped recruiting WR's when we got a commitment form Germone Hopper, as we were only planning on takng one true reciever in this class. Anybody else we would sign would be a hybrid position. That's according to Clemson Insider, so take it for what it is worth.

I wondered about that too. By the way, Smith is rated a 4 star by both ESPN and Scout. Scout rates him as the number 205 overall player in the nation. ESPN rates him as the number 24 wide receiver in the nation. Whoever above referred to him as a 3 star was wrong, at least as far as Scout and ESPN are concerned.
