Nah, he did. Just struggling. Could be the cold weather. Idk just a bad patch. He went through a few last year.

You’re right. I’m worried though that it’s something more to it than that. To have struggled as long as he did at the end of last year and let it run into this year it just feels like he ain’t the guy. He has had time and an offseason. But who is the guy? Idk Coach See will get someone there who can produce

The 2 points in time you pointed out aren't consecutive. He had a great summer with TEAM USA & fall according to coaches.

I really liked Speirs last season watching a pre season game. He's a bulldog.

Spiers seems to be 1A out of the Bpen with Ryan Miller being 1B IMO

His biggest problem is his control and trying to spot the ball too much.
Which usually leads to him getting behind then they key on his fast ball.
At this level a 90 mph fastball down the middle is getting killed.
