Met Clate and his family at the hospital

My wife is undergoing chemo treatments for cancer and while up in the infusion area with her, I noticed this young man with a pair of Clemson shorts on. So, I asked him if he was Clate and he confirmed my suspicion. I met his parents and brother as well - class acts all the way around.

I was so impressed with Clate and his entire family!! He was positive, upbeat, playful and very engaging; I left feeling so good about his prognosis and future as it was clear he was going to win the most important battle of his young life. I can't speak highly enough of his parents or his brother (yes, the one who plays for the enemy) - you could immediately sense the close bond and immense love they have for each other.

This stuff goes way beyond sports or which team we pull for. He is a young man that anyone would be proud to know, work with, be a teammate with and pull for as a fan. I'll always and forever be a Clate Schmidt (and family) supporter and fan!
