cliff Ellis years and transfer

Mar 24, 2015, 9:50 AM

I would love for someone to go back to the cliff Ellis years and count the number of transfers. Cliff seem to sign 5 guards and would keep the best 2. That is how it appeared to me as a student. Different coaches, but # of transfers is similar. Brownell is a better coach, cliff got some talented players, at times.

Better coach? Really?

You sure about that?

Cliff still shows up at the Big Dance.

Cliff had some pretty good Tiger teams.

Was he the greatest? No.

But Brownell has done nothing to show me he is a good coach, and he can't sing like Cliff can.

It wouldn't surprise me if Brownell could sing better than Ellis. Back when I collected beach/shag music I had a copy of "Loveland" that Ellis recored while at Clemson. The original version was a fine song, but the version Ellis recorded was the most godawful thing I've ever heard.

Charles Wright and the Watts 103 Street Rhythm Band. Great jam.

Didn't Rod Mitchell come to Clemson on a football scholarship? I seem to recall that he did, but I could be wrong.
