Sports Illustrated Article

Jan 17, 2017, 8:12 AM

I don't post on here much, but I just have to get this off my chest.

I just read the very first article in my Sports Illustrated with Deshaun on the cover and can't believe that they are still mentioning "Clemsoning". Are the writers just that lazy or just completely stupid. I counted the C-word at least 5 times in the article. They spend the first 2 paragraphs basically explaining how the term originated and don't even mention retiring it until the beginning of the 3rd paragraph. Even then they imply that it took us getting to the championship game last year. Really? Finally, in the very last sentence the write suggests redefining "Clemsoning" to mean the "Tigers win big games". Maybe I'm just too sensitive, but this type of reporting just really sickens me. I don't want to redefine the C-word, I want it gone and anyone who dares to put it in print or say it on TV should loose all access to Clemson sports for life.

Wow. Kelly Bryant ran the ball 12 times and scored 27 TDs. That's impressive. And Schuessler ran the ball 9 times and scored 19 TDs. All while only gaining 1 yard between them. That means we can score with our minds. We've nothing to worry about next year.

You know what needs to be retired in addition to the C-word?

Jan 17, 2017, 8:24 AM

Complaining about every perceived slight against the Clemson football program. We just won the National Championship, beat the #1 team in the country, it was a team people thought could beat NFL teams because they had the best defense in the history of college football. You just got to spend quite a bit of money buying a commemorative issue of SI after Clemson won the National Championship, and yet...you're on an internet sports message board whining that it took 3 paragraphs for the author to say the C-word should be retired then goes on to say it should be redefined to mean "Tigers win big games." Just take some time to enjoy it, Clemson is elite. Also, it's "lose" not "loose" hth.

Although it's hard when SI, ESecPN, etc... are slighting us every chance they get.
