best DMV experience ever today.

Virginia DMV is open by appointment only, and I've been hearing horror stories about how long it took to get an appt. I needed to renew my license and get the new RealID version. I completed the application online this am (well, their site is crappy, but the rest was good) and scheduled an appt for this afternoon. Same Day! While I was poking around, they had no slots open from today until Sept 15. They had 2 slots open for today, but the first one got filled while I was asking for it. Girl at the counter says they have a lot of cancellations. Anyways, got my new license and out of there in 20 minutes. Excellent! I suggest they work by appointment even once rona is over.
