1. Year in and year out they recruit better than anyone not named Bama.
2. They have Meyer who is the 2nd best coach, based on stats, currently in the NCAA.
3. They have the easiest path to the playoff of any of the top teams.(Bama, OSU, Clemson, FSU, Stanford, Oklahoma)
Yes they were outclassed in the playoff, but they are still top tier and have an easy path to get back.

#3 is highly under rated, as their schedule is year in, year out extremely weak. Yeah, some of their teams look real good... playing OTHER BIG10 schools! IMO, Penn St is way over hyped as their QB would be an interception machine in a league with solid DB's, Michigan isn't there yet, Lil Brother Sparty..what is their post season record? I do agree however that they should he ranked highly, given the number of returning starters, their recruiting, and Urban. Dude has 3 CFB Titles, that will always keep him in the conversation. Their OC, Kevin Wilson is a really, really good play caller. His game calling kept Indiana in ball games, and I fully expect him to do a lot with JT Barret, plus they got a very highly ranked QB from this year's class. I despise the &uckeyes personally, and hope we cherry pick Carman and any other kids that want to become a Clemson Gentleman, but not liking them doesn't make them have a bad season. To quote Ben Shapiro "Facts don't care about your feelings."

Their schedule is extremely weak? I'd say Oklahoma is a better OC game than Aburn considering OK smoked auburn in the bowl last year. Penn State is a hell of a lot better then Loserville, and Michigan went toe to toe with FSU in an ACC stadium in their bowl last year. I assure you Ohio States sos will be stronger than ours this year. The rest of what you said is pretty accurate.

Was there any drop off between Watson and Shuss. Was there any more drop off between Shuss and Bryant? Last year is for the most part irrelevant.

They literally had the least experienced team in the nation going into last season. With the upgrade at OC and returning far more than last year, they figure to be very good.

No tackling during spring game? Flag football maybe. Either way, no problem for the Tigers IF they meet again. The pre-season hype comes from Meyer being at his coaching status with wins. Just not with the Tigers.

returning starters. They were young. This year they have a lot of talented experience including one of the easiest routes to the Playoff in the country. Yes, the media overhypes the B1G, but you can exclude OSU in that conversation. Its teams like Michigan who have zero returning starters on Offense that have no business even being preseason ranked. OSU will run through those teams. Their toughest game might be Wisconsin in the B1G championship game

As I stated earlier in this thread, they play Oklahoma who smoked Auburn in their bowl, Michigan who lost by 1 to FSU in an ACC stadium bowl game, and Penn State who looks pretty promising. Their schedule is far from easy. I know other Tnetters would be boasting about that schedule if it were ours. Sprinkle in road trips to Nebraska and Iowa, it all adds up to a pretty tough sos. Watch and see what their sos is ranked about week 3.
