Beer Sales in DV?

Nov 10, 2013, 3:34 PM

Why not? And how much money would we make? Also sales at LJ and DK would be nice also.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

having beer in the Carrierdome was nice.***

This subject always goes one of two ways. Here they are.

Nov 10, 2013, 3:47 PM

A. Bring it on. More money, would be great to have a beer during a game, although I know it would be outrageously priced. Probably keep some people in the game instead of going out to their cars at halftime to drink a beer or two.

B. Bring it on. I don't even drink but the money it would bring in would be great.

C. Enough drunks in the place already.

D. Good grief, can't people just take a break from drinking for 3 or 4 hours and enjoy the game? You've been doing it at the tailgate all day! Gosh! Think about how many more drunks that will put on the road. What about the children?!?!? THE CHILDREN?!?!

You decide what category you fall into.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I guess that is actually four ways.***

so it goes back to: i don't like it, so you can't like it !

Nov 10, 2013, 4:48 PM

makes me mad about this state. i have lived around the world, being brought up in a military family, and having served, myself. what i have seen has me convinced that the state of s.c. , as much as i like it, is indeed 15-25 years behind other states, in just about everything.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why are they so anti-beer?

Nov 10, 2013, 5:08 PM [ in reply to The State might have something to say about that.*** ]

Its the "forbidden fruit" paradox, they more you claim how awful it is, the more the kids want to abuse it. Sell it, control it, ain't no big deal, and it loses its "coolness" factor. Back in the day, when the drink'in age was 18, half the people I knew did not drink, because it tasted bad. A lot rather smoke MJ and listen to Bob Marley records ... and then eat several pizzas ... can of worms opened !!!

The Methodist will wave to you at the liquor store.

If you think game day traffic is bad now

Nov 10, 2013, 4:47 PM

imagine it combined with alcohol-induced fender benders. Anyway it isn't hard to sneak a flask in if you insist on drinking.

Turns out beer sales actually DECREASE drunkiness ....

Nov 10, 2013, 5:02 PM

Stadiums that allow it have a policy, no re-admittance if you leave

If you want to drink, you must buy stadium beer

Beer price is 6-8 a pop,

Most people have a couple, and thats it

team gets the beer money !

It really does work, google it and read the stats (well documented)

http://freakonomics.com/2012/09/06/can-selling-beer-cut-down-on-public-drunkenness-a-new-marketplace-podcast/

I'm typically a pragmatic guy when it comes to this stuff. I enjoy beer, but don't much mind it not being available at Death Valley. However, if the argument to not have it available is to cut down on public drunkenness than so far studies seem to show that point is not valid.

Granted, doing so at the cost of pass-outs may not be popular.

the game and keep drinking. Makes sense that would definately cut down on drunks.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

BUT Sir, Stadiums that allow beer drink'in....

Nov 17, 2013, 9:04 AM

DONT'T ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE ONCE YOUR IN ... no readmittance ... that's the magic .... turns out a lot people guzzle a few beers outside the stduim during the game ... but since beer sale stadium is expensive, actually LESS beer in drunk'in ... see link
