as a flaming atheist with a contempt for organized Religion

Apr 17, 2014, 10:15 PM

I am pretty sure the kids that do sign with Clemson to play under Dabo Know exactly what they are getting and come here for that reason. I have always seen this as a huge recruiting advantage when going to head to head with the criminal justice "college" down the road. It also insures that the kids we do land are of better "character' than the ones that sign at SCU, FSU, GT, etc.. thus the lack headlines from our current and former players in the police blotter. And lastly, if our guys all share faith in their bond in brotherhood, it makes them tighter as a team and more able to depend one another, they will be better on the field.

As for the organization that is making a big deal out of this, just ignore them. The only time an atheist should get up an arms over religion is when it effects them directly, and in this case, it is not even close. They just want attention, so don't give it to them.

The only issue I have with your statement is the idea

because someone is a Christian, character comes along with it. I mean, take a look at this place on some days.

sure, and I make that same observation all the time. However I do not consider our staff to be those types and will "wind sprint" it out of anyone resembling the current muck in here.

You seem far too rational for an atheist, dang you!***

religion mainly gets on my nerves in when people says things like, "I was god's will" or creation "science", or people are killing each other over it. Otherwise do and believe what you like.

So how do you reconcile the fact that Isaac Newton was a devout Christian?

Einstein spent most of his life trying to prove a God

And the second half of his career was ruined for it.

Newton was also a alchemist. Never figured out how to turn lead to gold.

Remember the dark ages when suggesting that the Earth wasn't the center of the universe and it got you killed by the Church?

And so on...

Remember the last century when nearly a hundred million people people were killed by atheist communist and socialist dictators? Atheists love to ignore that part of history

There are a lot of atheists in the Clemson family and I don't know one that agrees with the FFRA. I sure don't.

What is disappointing, is how quickly some take the actions of one fringe group, flip out, go all militant and condemn all atheist. That is like me taking the actions of Westboro Baptist and claiming they represent all Christians.

As an atheist

Apr 18, 2014, 8:01 AM

you pretty much acknowledged the existence of God, indirectly, in your post. And directly, you admitted there's evil, and a common belief in the idea of a conscience about what is right and what is not. Creates a problem for atheists.
