Sammy could run them there. He's faster than a plane anyway.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Somebody help me out...

Jun 12, 2013, 10:05 AM

Forgive me if I missed the reason, but why exactly are they stopping? Didn't they say that using state planes is a win/win for us and the state? What are we going to do now?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

This is a simple case of a few legislators.....

Jun 12, 2013, 10:07 AM

who also happen to be $CU alums/fans having a major case of the red a$$ because Dabo continues to out-recruit Spurrier and the PeeCocks. As if no longer using the state planes is going to change that.

Re: This is a simple case of a few legislators.....

Jun 12, 2013, 11:14 PM

Don't think that's the reason, because the results aren't very obvious on the field. Clemson has out-recruited SC for the past 8-10 years.

Going private would make sense...I mean, it would be an admirable contract. You get to say your little airline takes care of Clemson University.

Jun 12, 2013, 10:18 AM [ in reply to Somebody help me out... ]

I kept hear from UCS fans about this plane thing and I do not understand it either. It is cheaper for us and Clemson Football money goes back to the state. Seems like a win-win , but these UCS fan congressmen made a big deal, first acting like Clemson was not paying for it and then it was just to hurt Clemson recruiting and Clemson in general.

It is good for the state but bad publicity for us

Jun 12, 2013, 11:46 PM [ in reply to Somebody help me out... ]

Iptay has plenty of money to buy another plane..... And now they won't get the benefit of our dollars to maintain their plane and staff.

Can't say I blame them.....I don't want to hear the whining either

They act like our state doesn't need the income generated. Absolutely ridiculous.

When the little ####### presented this on WIS, he claimed we used these planes at tax payer cost. Nothing was said about Clemson actually leasing the planes. Pissed me off!

Oh look, another example of the lousy state of SC...

Jun 12, 2013, 12:46 PM

crapping on Clemson. I wish Georgia or North Carolina would annex Clemson for Clemson's sake. Clemson is an elite institution DESPITE South Carolina.

Jun 12, 2013, 5:26 PM

There is absolutely no good reason why our state government (read: tax payers) should be paying to fly football coaches around to beg students to attend college.

Did WIS write this?

Jun 12, 2013, 1:36 PM

"After the legislature found out about Clemson's use of the state planes, the university stopped using them for football recruiting."

That makes it sound like Clemson was doing something wrong, which they were not.

WIS is about as screwed up as The State

Jun 12, 2013, 4:16 PM

Both worthless news outlets. Alicia Barnes at ABC is the best reporter in town... and a Clemson grad.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

How embarrassing for the state government.

Jun 12, 2013, 5:57 PM

That news release from Clemson was fantastic. "Oh, don't help the state? Okay, if you insist."

What a bunch of morons these government officials are.

I live in the Low country and heard the 2 rep. on the radio give there motion on the floor that day. Could barely tolorate the ebonics but still listened to the stupidity they spoke 1 was from orangeburge the other Moncks corner area SCS grads and uscjr, I was cussing the whole time and when I spoke to the other Reps. about it and how they let it go thru they said well the truth is when they take the floor most of them go to the bathroom or take a short break if you look at the the film of the session no one is in there.

Got an IDEA

Jun 12, 2013, 11:01 PM

Since Watson has us moving into the state of Georgia maybe we could rent the Georgia state plan and help the state of Georgia tax payers. I work for state government and these guys making these decisions would blow your mind.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Got an IDEA

Jun 12, 2013, 11:53 PM

The only thing that blows my mind is why so many politicians and bureaucrats are still there....look at fed and state deficits and any moron could see they don't know chit.
And the bureaucracy is worse than the politicians.....it's a machine

for costing the state more money due to you petty jeolousy and shortsightedness.

If you think this will stop us from getting to recruits you are more foolish than most already know.
