almost 80% of Colorado voters voted early?

Nov 4, 2012, 9:57 AM

I'm amazed at the huge increase in voting early that has gone largely unnoticed by me. Why is this such a trend, just convenience? I consider it my civic duty to stand in line over at the elementary school. Do you get a sticker when you vote early?

Yes you do, also in highly populated areas...

it is almost impossible to vote on Tuesday in a big election. Early voting helps keep people from missing too much work on Tues.

I don't know but I don't like it

Something about it bothers me, I plan to keep voting on election day.

It feels like the whole concept is going to get messy and hard to manage, and it also seems strange people have voted before potentially huge stories breaking between their vote and the legally set election day.

It certainly increases the liklihood of fraud***

Messy and hard to manage is an understatement, weren't dead people voting in 08?

if you vote weeks or even months early, you're taking a big risk of voting for somebody you don't know enough about. I mean, in that time, the candidate could drop out of the race altogether.

people don't want to put any effort into it

thus, they're not going to stand in line and miss work to go vote. Some people even want to have online voting.

Over 70% in Nevada

Early voting increases overall turnout.

Which is why most pub led states tried hard to limit it.
