SS I'm very sorry to hear that my friend. I will surely offer up my prayers and friendship, but I don't know what to say in helping you deal with the pain and sorrow you and your family are going to face. When it get hard for you, just give me a call and I'll do my best. God is much better at this than I am, just call on him.

Prayers are with you, your Dad's doctors, and your family. I lost my dad in January, a 59 graduate of Clemson, and miss him a bunch. Spend as much time with him as you can.

Take it one day at a time brother. My mother is 96 and she is starting to slip away little by little. Just enjoy every moment and don't correct them when they something that is inaccurate. They won't understand in most cases. Keep praying for them.

Prayers to all of you. My mother was diagnosed and was

Feb 24, 2015, 5:21 AM

cured a couple of yrs ago. We were surprised that we were not overcome by sheer joy although we were gratefully relieved. She's going on 10 years now after surviving 2 strokes so the fright and worry was not new. After being cured we realized that we could not feel guilty but would have to try to fully appreciate the fortune knowing that so many in their youth and prime did and will not survive what she did. I think this task of full appreciation will be ongoing for the rest of my life. My brother just 2 months ago lost his wife to cancer. She was in her 40's and a mother of 5. It is unthinkable to me.

One thing we've learned is that every moment is special and to be cherished, and never pass on the opportunity to tell those you love that you love them dearly. We make that a daily requirement. Settle all of the differences that may exist as all of them are frivolous at the end of the day. We also asked what would those less fortunate do if they had more time and the answer was to get busy living. I think that is a fair and just perspective for any and everyone that is still with us. Mom would tell you she would trade for you and she would. Expressing too much love and time is impossible. Also, I think too one can't over appreciate the many years we have had. We send our thoughts, prayers and love to all of you and please please thank your father for his service. He will always be a Hero.

Sorry to hear about your Dad. Mine is almost 91 and has been in good health, but dementia has really set in over the last year.We will be praying for you and your Dad. I'm sure he's had a great life. Especially being part of the greatest generation ever, something a lot of young people may never understand.

Hope you are all able to enjoy the remaining time you have left with your Dad, and all prayers go out to your family during this time. Salute to your Dad and all the others who won the most important war ever fought, IMO. The world would be an even more unthinkable place today if not for their Valor and Service.
