That's not really the reason why. History shows Americans historically favor war, and Trump won off several other promises.
I do commend Trump for keeping us out of needless wars, but this move is a turn on our allies.
Also, everyone needs to stop pretending Trump is America's favorite. He won fair and square, but not because the majority love him.
