Why do republicans/conservatives think

that everybody should look and act the way they do and make every decision they would make or they are wrong? The number one statement you seem to hear from them these days is “I just don’t agree with that” or “that goes against my values”....Have any of y’all ever stopped to think that maybe you just don’t know everything or everybody’s situation? The democrats aren’t right about everything but at least they don’t act like they are and look down their nose at everybody who has a different view.
And they carry this attitude outside the political spectrum because you see them all over the main board bashing a young man for making a decision in attempt to better his future and you’d think he took a dump on Howard’s rock or something. He “ruined his legacy” I saw one poster say. What a bunch of egotistical #######....

Let me preface my position by paraphrasing Krauthammer who said 'Pubs view dems as misguided while dems view pubs as evil.' With close examination of the foundation of that statement you'll notice that pubs' consider our beliefs based on logic and reason while dems are presented as forming views based on matters of the heart. We're often considered cruel, heartless and without morals or even a moral compass.
Our response is to try and reason with you and other dems but sometimes a dem's goal is to draw emotional responses in order to end a conversation in which logic overwhelms their argument. To which, we're met with accusation of racist, homophobes and white nationalist. Any hint of someone not agreeing with a dem in here eventually turns into an insult fest.
I'll have to dismiss your comment that dems don't think they are right about everything. If that were true folks in here would change their minds when met with overwhelming evidence that their views are inaccurate. I do not believe I have seen that in the many years I've been in here. So all evidence indicates you are more taking a cheap shot at pubs to make dems look better.
Basically, your rant was emotional and without justification though I'm sure many of those who agree with you because you support their side of the argument will call me a heartless bestard for saying so. That proves my point again.

You're the one who claimed I was heartless and ungodly because I would not allow justification for those who cross the border illegally and claiming to be a Christian.
Many times I have warned you that arguing with atheist and trying to prove God or reconcile the Bible to science would corrupt you and ruin your testimony and look at you now, Hop. You're just a trashy as the rest of us.

Well this post was a reaction to some of the things I was reading from them on this board including you.
Never said you were ungodly, I just think you like a lot of other Christians have let your love of this country cloud your love for your neighbor. And those poor people trying to make a better life for themselves are your neighbor even if they aren’t a citizen of this earthly kingdom of yours.
So I’m corrupted now because I’m displaying bi-partisan views and stepping on your toes huh?

No, brother, I didn't accuse you of being ungodly, I said you've lost your way. That has nothing to do with politics. It has to do with your relationship with Him.
As far as me loving my neighbors I've show more quarters to Mexican immigrants than any liberal on this board or any which have supported illegal immigration. The vast majority of illegals are devout Christians. I think your side of this argument is ignoring that.
For that and the love of my fellow man I desire a path to citizenship for them. I admit I have been deceptive and not presented my entire motivation for wanting Mexican to have a very easy path to entering and becoming citizens of this country.
They will vote against anyone who supports abortion. They are extremely conservative and will join our ranks instead of voting for progressives, liberal and socialist. Imo, they can be more like the original immigrants who built this country.
The problem I have is that DC would rather defend illegal immigration than stop it and make them citizens. We give them all the benefits except the vote, I want their vote. To get that we first need to stop allowing them to immigrate illegally. The first thing you do to a wound is stop the bleeding.
Right now 65% of illegals are receiving some sort of government help. After they are here a while the numbers go up to 75%. Natives numbers are around 30%. I know you read the report. They are not immoral for taking what is given. We all do that when we take tax deductions. Imo, neither is more wrong or right than the other. They are both legal and equal.
It is the left which fights against doing what's right here. Stop the bleeding, let the wound heal and let the body recuperate. Imo, the left will experience unexpected consequences.
It frustrates me that the left doesn't see the true value of the Mexican people. Mexicans don't want your pity, they want to make money, have and support large families. They are what immigrants of 150 years ago were.

Leftism promotes values that contradict and seek to destroy pretty much every single proven principle of Western civilization that has created its success.
One great example is Socialism. It has utterly failed in every single nation it has been installed in. Literally, over 100 countries from every continent over the past century have attempted socialism, and every single one has resulted in utter ruin and destruction. Its one huge reason for the immigrant crisis we have.

I know this is going to be a bit of a shocker to you, but it is quite possible for some people to support more liberal social ideology without embracing extreme leftist economics. I know. I know. It's amazing how both conservatives and liberals view themselves and the others in exactly the same way, just switched and use different derogatory terms to dismiss the other. Both sides see themselves as this logical and moral arbiter who is at all times stoic and never lets emotion fuel their thinking. Naturally, they see the "other side" as the opposite.
In other words, both sides see themselves like Spock from Star Trek while they view the other side like they are the Klingons. Yet, it's pretty obvious from being on this board or reading the comments on any political story that both sides are clearly the Klingons.

Yep, pretty said if grown ### adults have a problem with a young man doing something to further his career and making life choices he feels are the best. I'd wager we've all done that at some point.
