Finished my shop table over the weekend. Ended up being 33X80 instead of 30X80 because I forgot to pull out 3 inches for the 2X4s. Was surprised to learn I could cut decently straight lines with my $30 circular saw.

Total cost was about $200. Spent $50 on the casters, $50 on legs (basics work bench), $60 on plywood. Surprisingly easy to put together.

stain it, since you used high grade plywood and then put about 6 coats of poly on it, you'll be surprised how good it will look.

build something that big and it be inside. Also don't be jealous that it doesn't look like a 5 year old built it.

What is wrong with you?

I think it looks nice.

get you a vice (craigslist) to mount on there. I also like my grinding wheel up there as well. You can mount a power strip on the back to plug your tools in, and that way you are only seaching for one wall plug when you move it around.

Is it tough enough to stand on?

They sell magnetic strips you can mount on the sides that are nice to hold some tools

Either paint it several times or like mentioned earlier, stain with several clear coats. Will help it hold up for 20 years.

I do have a vice....Not sure how much I will actually use it

May 18, 2020, 10:14 AM [ in reply to I think it looks nice. ]

for working though....more of a place to keep some of my tools and throw random crap on for temporary storage. I'm gonna hang a peg board behind it.

Yes, it's pretty sturdy, can easily hold my weight.
