Question regarding conference money

Jun 17, 2012, 10:35 PM

For all the people saying the coots will surpass us due the money they get from their conference, how has the money given them an advantage?

Recruiting? We're obviously getting SEC calibur players.

Facilities? We're upgrading as we speak.

Coaches? We have the highest paid assistants.

P.S.: At this time I am neither pro-acc nor pro-big 12, right now i could careless what conference we're in as long as we don't get screwed out of a chance at a national title.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

You are correct.

Conference affiliation doesn't necessarily mean one team would have an advantage over another. Clemson has better football facilities than half of the teams in the SEC, and consistently recruits better than half of the conference, as well.

You're missing the point ...

1) USC has won 3 straight, and

2) The issue isn't how others are doing with the money, it is how we could/would do with the money. If we are doing as well as we are without it, how much better could we be doing with it?

There's also the fear that So Car's $4 million annual TV

revenue advantage over Clemson will get wider after the SEC finishes its TV renegotiations and puts in a SEC Network. Facilities get older and must be replaced. SEC teams will be able to replace theirs sooner. And didn't Dabo turn down a raise so that more money will be available to assistants? You can't expect that all the time.

Money is a huge advantage.
