I'm hoping Tiggity can publish a few meteorological chapters

on how to bring up moisture from the south as a warm front pushes through. Will need some advice on how to cause and deal with flash flooding.

The best way to get tropical moisture to flow north

Dec 14, 2018, 9:55 AM

actually requires no physical interaction. With the right words, setting, and other things, tropical moisture will already be in place if you did a good job before heading south. In fact, that's one of the best ways to make sure things are "real" with the weather. If the moisture is already in place with minimal interaction, you're gold.

Quick edit: Older weather systems are often blamed for not producing enough moisture. But no, those older weather systems are perfectly capable of producing monsoons, the conditions just have to be more favorable than younger systems.

Worldwide, average rainfall is about 5.9"

Dec 14, 2018, 10:05 AM

Rainfall rates above 10" is exceedingly rare, and often cause loud noises, thunder, and damage to dams and waterways.
