I had Salt Lick at a BBQ festival, and enjoyed it, although I hear Franklin's is better. Louie Mueller's is also supposed to be great.

I wasn't willing to tailgate half the day away to get in Franklins, but Smitty's Market and Kreuz Market in Lockhart were fantastic. We ate Terry Black's in Austin and Kent Black's in San Marcos and both were very good, but not Lockhart good. Salt Lick in Round Rock was good, but didn't match any of the above. Smitty's would be my number one overall.

Lockhart is the best of the best. Kreuz Market was so delightful. Had a coma about an hour after we left.
