should have a cult like following the way trump does with his base. They worship him, and would never speak an ill word against him. This is dangerous because when a leader who is worshipped like that does wrong, they will either not see it or, if they do, will refrain from believing it or condemning it. That leader then has carte blanche to do whatever he wants with no consequences, and that is a dangerous situation for any nation.

Who is about as legitimately far to the right on issues as you can go in America without dipping into this populist wonkiness Trump espouses?
Let's contemplate how your "blood in the streets" scenario might go, too. Short answer: not well. We'll just ask former high-ranking Generals like James Mattis, HR McMaster, or John F. Kelly, all of whom worked for Trump and all of whom got unceremoniously dumped and then spat on by Trump afterward, or former SEAL commander Admiral William McRaven - the guy who led the op that killed Bin Laden - or members of military intelligence like former Fox regular Colonel Ralph Peters.
This article in The Atlantic is actually from just five days ago. His military leaders are...concerned, and this was before he abandoned our Kurdish allies.
