They actually hurt our strength of schedule. We need to schedule the Citadel, they would help our SOS better than the coots do!!! Citadel yes, coots NOOOOOOOOO!!!

And when we win the next 3 they ignore that.

And when we go 14-1 they ignore that. And when they go 3-9 they ignore that. When the coach they worshipped in front of a 90 ft poster puts them on permanent 'ignore', they ignore that. When all other coaches not about to be fired put them on 'ignore', they ignore that. And when they lose to the Citadel they ignore that. And when we beat...you get the picture.
Any gamecock, who has all the ignoring to do, playing the ignore card is hilarious.

I'd like to see a chart of SOS for the past 20 years, with rankings prior to and after the final game. Seems like back in the days before their five-straight, our SOS would always go down after the rivalry game; theirs would go up.

Coots started ignoring history when they

Won the first game in their 5-game streak. History meant nothing at that point. The 7-game streak Clemson had in the '30s was surely meaningless, but they also ignored the fact that in the 12 years prior to the beginning of their streak, Clemson won 4-in-a-row *twice* and won 10 of the 12 including such memorable events as 1st and 35 and 63-17.
Sure, they had a some good years--in perhaps the best 5 year stretch in their *history*, they got to the SEC championship game once. If that's the best they can manage, perhaps they should consider swapping conferences with the Citadel?

USuck fans simply cannot accept their overall losing record whether against the ACC, as an independent or certainly in the "sorry excuse conference!" The chicks can somewhat celebrate five wins over Clemson, but they forget their history of futile football no matter the decade until OBC finally got them above a losing historical record. Clemson still rules and gamecocks have no tradition except "wait until next year" to give them any degree of hope.

Y'all have been on it every year the last 100 years also, and that hasn't helped our SOS not even by a point!!! If we could make our schedule to be stronger, y'all wouldn't be on it. Now what does that tell you besides we hate you. It says that if we had our choice of making up our schedule for strength, we would never see the coots on our schedule ever again, period!!!

You better date back a more favorable number other than 20 years, cause the tigers have won 12-8 over the gamecocks since 96, or 13 since 95. Whichever year you prefer. But we all know the SEC schedule is so rough, y'all are beat up and wore down by the time y'all play the Tigers.

Really all that matters is this fact; USuck has lost more games in any series to the Clemson Tigers! Enough discussed about SOS. When USuck even comes close to Clemson in competition then we can talk.
Go Tigers!

why does strength of schedule even matter to these two teams when talking about each other? Clemson and South Carolina play each other every year. Clemson has won the majority of the games, because they have historically been a better team. That's really all there is to it.
Even if the SEC was marginally more difficult for the last 20+ years, does it matter? South Carolina can't out recruit about the same number of teams in the ACC as in the SEC. It's just not that attractive of a school to go to for football when a recruit has other options.
South Carolina can attribute their 4-6 year spike to a weaker than normal SEC East, and higher skill level recruits being available in the same areas that they have always been able to recruit well. Now that those areas are turning out more "regular" talent, the gamecocks suffer.
