They routinely take 3 or 4 steps now with the "Euro dribble"

and Lebron has always been able to take off from about half court and never put the ball down on the floor again. 3 steps, 4, 5, whatever it takes. And if you're even in the same zip code it's a foul, even if you're camped out in the lane and just standing there with your arms straight up. It's hilarious. I can't even watch the NBA any more, been that way for about 20 years now. The "continuation step" we were taught in high school, and it was called that way in college as well, was basically a step and a half. That was extended in the 80s to 2 full steps after controlling the ball. And it's just gone up from there. Nothing is called now. It's changed the complete nature of the game. I hear people say - the athletes are much better now. No they're not. With today's rules, Wilt would average about 70 points a game. Easy.

The rule is still 2 steps after gathering...

the "Euro step" just incorporates a side-to-side aspect to it, so it's like a zig-zag around defenders.

There's no such thing as "half" a step. If your foot hits the ground you took a step, if it didn't it's not a step.

There is so much, so much BS in this response. They all used to say the same exact thing about Jordan. Just because you are slow and fat and cannot keep up with the game doesn’t mean you know it all with the NBA. This is hilarious.

Also 20 years ago was the height of the NBA. If you were not watching, then you are just a prude and a hater. Everyone was just tying their best to be the next Bulls and the lakers were putting together an unbelievable team. Again, you were probably picked last in gym and it’s showing.

Wilt would probably average 20 today. The players are way bigger now and the athletes are at a different level. Joel Embiid would be Wilt Chamberlain if he played back then. Wilt had it easy.
