It will be the first real football game for them. I'm not saying wake forest are world beaters, but if Florida State overlooks this game again, they will lose. We will find out any deficiencies they have though.

FSU has had a lot of trouble with Wake over the past few years. I never put it past a Jim Grobe coached team to give anybody fits on any given day. No doubt that guy does more with less than probably any coach in the country. I have a ton of respect for Jim Grobe. Dude's a heck of a coach.

With Jim Grobe as coach, Wake has a chance. They should at least make it a game for the first half, hopefully for the entire duration.
I actually prefer FSU wins and comes into our game undefeated and maybe a little over confident.
But Jim Grobe is probably the best coach in the ACC and one of the best in the country. Will probably get fussed at for saying this, he would probably had done well at Clemson if given the chance.
Wake has given FSU fits over the years.

standing wise, yes the extra loss would certainly benefit.
Dont want them playing us extra angry I guess is what I was saying but it didn't help them last year after they had lost prior to our game.

conference race is much better. I too would love FSU to be undefeated for potential GameDay, or just for competitive nature sake, and when I was younger I used to believe that often fallacy about a loss the week before makes team more focused (or angry), which can be true too I guess.
But honestly, how many times have we had to face the fact that a one game difference in division standings can decide whether or not your team (or sometimes the better team) gets to play for the championship. This is all wishful thinking, because I think FSshoe has all the advantages this time.
But's it's nice to dream for that "justifiable" upset too, isn't it?
Go Tigers.

that is what i was thinking. if there is a chink in fsu's defense, grobe will find it. with the tape available, it will give the chad the chance to exploit it with far superior athletic talent and playmakers than what wake can throw at'em. my bad,i had the right coach, just the wrong name.

not sure about their d.that will be the question when they play FSU.fsu D is their strong point.their O is average if they didnt fix their o line from last year they wont be able to run the ball which will pose problems for them all season.sure they ran it against murray state and savannah state but those teams do not pick up decent players in recruiting.plus wake has the coach factor.the Jim Grobe factor will be key.never saw a guy do so much with far more less than he has.he always tends to have his teams prepared.

Knowing Grobe's success against FSU the past 10 years I'm counting on FSU having to open up their playbook and give us something worthwhile to see prior to our visit, but I wouldn't put it past Wake to make a game of it until the end.

I want to roll into Tallahassee with them undefeated and at full strength (or as close as they can get with Jenkins out). That way, if and when we take them down they don't have any excuses, and we'll have a much better idea of just how good our team is.
