Yet another example of government ineptness

Election board has one job to do on one day every two years. Count ballots. Still screw it up.
Worthless

In what way is it "screwed up"?

You expect them to count millions of votes in a matter of a couple of hours? What is the expectation?

Coach,
Some states allow early counting, but some states worry that those results will be leaked and influence day-of voting.

I think that's a logical reason.

In practice, I don't think it actually is an issue. I don't ever hear about results leaking like that. So maybe the states will reconsider.

That's a matter of state law. I don't disagree with you.

That it would be a good law change. But it's not a case of someone "screwing up". They are following the law in their state.

True.
But, I can see why some people get irritated at early voting being counted last. Perception.

I want in person voting only, and a big analog flip counter

On the wall of every precinct, and when you cast your vote there’s a big family feud “ding” and your candidates’ vote totals increase by 1.
If we can’t do that, I say we are all issued three big chips, and vote plinko style.

1. That is a matter to be handled on the state level.
2. Do you guys not worry about the hackability of more technological voting ?? Or the lack of accurate backup documentation ??

2. I'm not concerned about failures of a system that hasn't even been proposed yet.

Not sure why this is so hard to understand. The states still counting ballots were the ones prevented from counting mail in ballots as they came in.

Major cities with a record number of absentee ballots that they aren't allowed to count early. Got it.

If you knew these ballots favored Trump, you would be screaming for patience and to count all of em.
Why do you need the results right this second?
