I doubt we hang on to this guy. He doesn't really seem

committed at all.

And I'd want to visit any and all big name schools I could

Aug 10, 2012, 3:51 PM [ in reply to Are 15-16 year-old kids even capable of making that kind of ]

at that age. Plenty of time for us to make a statement for him to come play at Clemson.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

For some, a commitment is a one way street

Aug 10, 2012, 4:20 PM [ in reply to I doubt we hang on to this guy. He doesn't really seem ]

Seems to me that if he's committed and basically said "Don't recruit another QB or I'm gone" he should return the favor and not visit any other school.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yep, we need to recruit some other QBs is he is looking

Aug 10, 2012, 11:55 PM

His words were, ( I am going to be very interested in them.) That doesn't sound very committed to us. Sounds to me like He's telling FSU, make me an offer.

We'll be lucky to hang onto him.

Aug 10, 2012, 11:57 AM

I dont get the impression he is All in.

And Jimbo Fisher is not a good OC.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes please come down for the FSU game

Aug 10, 2012, 11:58 AM

you'll enjoy seeing us beat them again

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That's what I'm hoping for

Aug 10, 2012, 12:57 PM

I'm sick of the arrogance coming from the FSU fans these days.

The guy isn't even a junior in high school. As long as Chad is here, he will be a Tiger. Let him take his visits. We have a better chance at keeping him if we let him look at other places

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I think it's totally unrealistic to expect a kid who has two

Aug 10, 2012, 12:20 PM

more full years in high school to not take any other visits, especially when he is this highly recruited.

I don't have an answer, but I don't think recruiting kids this young is a good thing.

good points. I guess you hate to turn down a great commitment but there is a long way to go on this recruitment. It will be 2 years worth of the RN situation as far as everyone wanting to sway him

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is a lot of hand holding over a long period

Think back to when y'all were 16. If one of your parents locked you up in your room and didn't let you go to your friends' houses and the other one pretty much let you do what you want, which one were you more likely to want to be around?

Aug 10, 2012, 1:02 PM

if one of our commitments is on the OTHER sideline of a game we are playing. That looks totally bad.

But, if he wants to visit during the FSU game, and sit on our side... great.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: i do not mind him visiting FSU, but I do take issue

Aug 10, 2012, 1:12 PM

I doubt FSU would allow that. Iagree w your point. Lots of other games he could vist there too

Re: i do not mind him visiting FSU, but I do take issue

Aug 10, 2012, 1:16 PM

But I am sure FSU would allow him to our game - on their side. Just to make us mad.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

If he decomitts from us

Aug 10, 2012, 1:22 PM

hope he has fun with Robert Nkemdiche, Scott Pagano, Carlos Watkins, Elijah Daniel, and Dane Rogers in his back field all day

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Re: If he decomitts from us

think he will do a #### good job recruiting for us, fsu certain they wanna bring him in for that game?

Re: If he decomitts from us

Aug 10, 2012, 1:31 PM [ in reply to If he decomitts from us ]

If Chad K. is the quarterback we think he is, and he redshirts, then plays through his senior year, Watson would be looking at sitting - no better than back-up - for two years. Watson may be looking at that. ??

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Probably if Chad is that good

Aug 10, 2012, 1:36 PM

he would leave after his Jr year for the pros. I'm glad to have this kid but the not recruiting others at your position promise always worries me. that usually seems to bite you eventually

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-74tiger.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

He's better than Chad

Aug 10, 2012, 1:44 PM [ in reply to Re: If he decomitts from us ]

Just my opinion though

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Watson will be more highly regarded out of HS...

Aug 10, 2012, 3:27 PM [ in reply to Re: If he decomitts from us ]

so Kelly might have lost his job. Watson will likely be a 5 star in the end. Amyway. hope we hold on to him, but obviously not looking good.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Watson will be more highly regarded out of HS...

Aug 10, 2012, 3:40 PM

Kelly came out highly regarded. He was ranked as the #4QB by pretty much every service. Started for one team at the Under Armor All American game.

This guy will be a good one. Hoping he will help lead us to a National Championship.

Has good speed and a very good arm.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Watson won't be sitting regardless of where he signs.***

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why any Dual threat QB would want to go to FSU is beyond me

Aug 10, 2012, 1:49 PM [ in reply to If he decomitts from us ]

FSU is not a running QB system, I mean, just look at EJ Manuel, most of his runs are because he just likes to take off running the ball on a pass play, so he rarely has any blockers knowing where hes going.

Lets just look: Chad Morris' 80+ plays a game where he would love to use a running QB, and knows how to utilize the talent he has.

OR

Jimbo's play action offense where he doesnt know how to utilze his talent (see EJ Manuel and not calling more read-option/QB running plays)

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They run a good amount of plays for running QB's

Aug 10, 2012, 7:57 PM

Options, Rollouts, Read options at times. Lets not forget Charlie Ward won the Heisman there. They may not run every play from the shotgun, but they have had success with mobile QB's and can sell the more pro-style offense compared to other schools.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Easy Cowboy!

Aug 10, 2012, 7:38 PM [ in reply to If he decomitts from us ]

don't think hes going anywhere.

IMO

#21

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Maybe we can get Chad K to hook him up with his own

They are thinking the same thing that we were with Hargraves

Aug 10, 2012, 11:06 PM

That they would whoop our a$$es in Tally and show him where he needs to be. Could backfire big time if we can get out of Doak with a W. that's going to be tough. They have that game circled on their calendar. They Know that they have to win that one to win the ACC. Mani hope our OL is gelling by then!

Aug 10, 2012, 11:40 PM

responses on Tigernet, this youngster may decommit. This kid is going into his junior year in high school! Why can't we say things positive to keep a very young kid involved with Clemson? Most of these comments do nothing to help Jeff Scott and other coaches involved in recruiting.

Really? We do the same thing to other schools, its part of the process. These kids arent fans of schools, they are products, thats it. Give the young kid a break.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Just win. That cures 90% of all the recruiting problems.

Aug 13, 2012, 8:45 AM

Very simple.
