MSM Question - Has the media ever been as rude to a POTUS
Aug 16, 2017, 10:45 AM
|

as they were yesterday?
They constantly interruputed his responses, in which he had to call them out. I'm not talking about reporters shouting over each other to ask questions, but blatantly talking over Trump's responses.
Never seen that before to that degree, and I'm on my 11th Prez.

Not sure, but they may have been like that after 9/11 and after we attacked Iraq.
Still, if Trump had actual press conferences more, and actually answered a lot more questions, they would probably settle down some.

but I do believe it is true, in general, the media has never been worse to a President than they are to this President.

That tweet being the most liked tweet ever reminds me of why Obama annoyed me so much. His fanboys and their cheerleaders in the press are insufferable.

more condescending and dismissive to those who didn't think like him than his supporters will ever admit.
But no way would I say he's anywhere close to Trump's rudeness.
I am reminded of the Peggy Noonan column in the WSJ, which stated that Trump is just not a man in the old-school way. He whines, he plays the victim, he lashed out and says the first thing that comes to his mind. Imagine that you constantly attacked certain segments of people and then whined to your friends that those people weren't nice to you. Pretty pathetic, right? Now imagine you're a billionaire and the POTUS. Whining and attacking your own citizens and US based companies and industries. How much MORE pathetic is that than if you are just Joe Shmoe?
Trump wants everyone to be nice to him but sees nothing in his own behavior that leads to the treatment he gets. How anyone, especially with a building full of advisors, could've so oblivious is beyond me.

I do think Trump fired the first salvos in this "war".

Enormous salvos, on the campaign trail, before it was even thought that he could be President.

Are you familiar with the 1798 Sedition Act?

John Adams didn't have a particularly great relationship with the press.
