Actually the previous programs, mainly agricultural made them leave after NAFTA. Before and after that it was because Mexico sucks.

In the immediate term, send border agents to the area they're headed. They're being tracked and moving 3mph. We already have 16,000 agents ready to go.
In the longer term, help Central American countries with crime reduction and economic development. Also, build relationships with them in general that will make them stronger partners. They obviously don't want laborers leaving while criminals are left behind, so they're highly motivated to help us.
I wouldn't lie to the American public to shamelessly try to influence the election.

Trump didn't get them heading our way. Folks act like Trump is the blame. Of course he's trying all he can to influence the election just like every democrat candidate out there including Obmam and Biden.
The teat that makes them want to come here is sweet. We can't create a system in those countries which matches the social services which attract those people to America. We can't afford the social programs we have.
Giving money to their governments is not a solution. All the leaders there are thieves and crooks. It's the same with Mexico. Those people don't benefit from what we try to do for them through their governments.

Every since we let the English on this side of the ocean, migrants have assisted in making America great - the 1st time. I like to refer to this as MAG1. Consider those religious radicals that landed in Plymouth and British criminals who were brought to the banks of the Chesapeake in Virginia and Maryland - and even those hooligans down in Georgia. Building on that foundation of using migrant labor to MAG1, the poor and discontent from Canton were used to build our western railroads. For decades and continuing to this day, migrant farm workers have been keeping our agricultural products plentiful and relatively cheap. United States business and citizens have benefited from the country's inception to today by immigration.
Based on history and crime statistics, I have no fear of migrant workers and immigrants in general. They were a big part of MAG1.

And let them know that they [will] clean up their own country within 6 months - go all gothic on gangs and drug cartels, etc - Or face the absolute and complete might of the US Military as I cleaned it without mercy for them. Then I would reconstruct their country to mimic that of the US.
If, as POTUS, I am going to spend one more dime to help these countries I will spend it with conditions and expectations that will be met.
Think that will get me elected?

That the caravans (not mobs) have greatly dissipated and there is little we can do about the folks that most likely won’t even find our border anyway.
So I would call the local sheriffs and have them be ready to process the asylum paperwork for the kind folks making their way over for prosperity.
