Any of you ever explore the tunnels under Johnstone

Mar 16, 2020, 8:16 AM

and the rest of campus? I graduated in Dec 91 and we were the last ones to live in Johnstone C. While some buddies and me hung out for the few days between the end of classes and graduated, we did decide to explore it a little. We didn't get very far. I'm 6'3 and it wasn't very comfortable! Not sure what the fun was other than just to say you did it, which we did!

I'd heard rumor that if the univ caught you in the tunnels you'd be kicked out of Clemson. I'm suspecting now that it was just one of those rumors, but anybody ever know anyone who did get caught?

There may be separate tunnels not mentioned in that wiki. I've never been in there.

I lived in Columbia for 10 years after college and was fascinated by the tunnels/catacombs under the capital. NYC also has some great tunnels from abandoned subway tracks. Those are easy enough to google and read about.

It was easy to go from the tin cans to the P&A building where we could help ourselves to “free” note paper!

No. But

I did accidentally end up in the basement below Cameron Indoor Stadium once and that was a scary experience. I think it is where the dressing rooms are located. If so, I can truthfully say that facilities aren’t important to some! I thought I was in the catacombs below St Michaels!
