Watching the replay on u, and have never noticed before but was was drake losing possession of the ball before he crossed the goal line? Should have been a touchback and Clemson ball. Never noticed that before

Why does one player need to maintain control on a pass but a runner does not until the ball hits the ground? It's the same rule. Drake was losing control as the ball was crossing the goal line.

Yes, I did. It is unfathomable that the referees would have ruled Hopper's catch as an incomplete pass after having taken two steps in the end zone and then getting stripped of the ball while Drake was throwing the ball over the goal line and losing possession while doing so. Hopper's catch was a touchdown. Drake fumbled-touchback.
