I am not blind to the fact that KB is a big part of the reason we won last year. Along with the fact that we had a great team around him. You seem to think any qb in the country could have won 12 games with our team last year. I know KB is not the greatest thrower and that TL and HJ have better natural abilities to throw the ball. KB was smart with the ball and made big plays when we needed them.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

KBs running ability was our best offensive weapon last year.***

Fuller's stats were much better than Homer's, especially during that time frame and the style of football that was played.

Fuller had 4,200 yards passing, 22/17 TD/INT, 1,703 yards rushing, and 22 TD's.

Homer had 3,643 yards passing, 15/27 TD/INT, 971 yards rushing, and 11 TD's.

Fuller was also Third-Team All American in 1978, and was ACC POY in 1977 and 1978; the only Clemson player to win the award twice.

That being said, Homer Jordan won a championship, which goes a long way.

Fuller was a punching bag in 75 and 76 on two terrible teams. IMHO he laid the foundation for what Danny built along with Butler, Bubba Brown and Randy Scott. Danny laid the foundation for what Dabo built so Fuller was the keystone. I think he was 4th or 6th in the Heisman in 1978 with a 6 turnover game at UGA with a broken wrist.

I know this entire debate is largely opinion, but saying

Apr 26, 2018, 5:00 PM

that Whitehurst or Dantzler definitely would've beaten USC once is pure conjecture. Boyd gets a ton of flak for going 0-3 against them, and some of that is justifiable, but he also went up against, literally, the 3 best teams in the history of SC football. Those 3 teams went 33-6 and had a fierce pass rush that was quite capable of making any of our QBs look bad - not just Boyd. On the other hand, the 2002-05 SC teams went a combined 23-24. If you want to argue that other QBs would've won a game against 11-13 SC, i think you could just as easily argue that most of the QBs on this list would've gone 4-0 against those 2002-05 SC teams.

Honestly if i were choosing one of those QBs to go up against the 2011-2013 SC defenses it would be Woody because he at least gives you the threat of eluding the pass rush and getting up field. I don't think Whitehurst would've been an upgrade over Boyd in that situation.

Sorry guys...

Homer Jordan is my #2 Quarterback at Clemson and will be until someone else wins us a National Championship. He carried the Tigers on his back a lot of that Orange Bowl(in spite of being given intravenous fluids at halftime for dehydration), along with that insanely great defense. His long run in the fourth quarter killed the clock and Nebraska's hopes of winning when he looked like he could barely walk from exhaustion.

That's like saying Terry Bradshaw was better than Dan Marino***

You could make that argument. It might not be the best argument, but it's there to be made.

The argument for Bradshaw literally starts and ends with

Apr 26, 2018, 5:07 PM

his four Super Bowls. He was basically a mediocre QB that happened to play with the Steel Curtain. In 1976 the Steelers lost Bradshaw for 6 games and went 6-0 in his absence. They gave up a total of 25 points in those 6 games including 3 shutouts.

Yeah right.... remind me when Marino or Bradshaw..

ran the triple option in the NFL. A QB runs the offense he is given, and Homer ran it well enough that he is still the only QB (including Deshaun Watson) to go undefeated for an entire season and finished his last two seasons at Clemson 20-1-1.

Look on the facade of the stadium and you don’t see any of those guys yet. Only Deshaun is deserving. Somebody born after 1990 must have written that.

Homer Jordan needs to be higher up on this list.....BEcause we would not have won our 1st national championship WITHOUT his outstanding performance against Nebraska......laid it all on the line in that game and gave it EVERYTHING he had........Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!
