Obed, a challenge for you.

Mar 22, 2020, 4:31 PM

I need a tooling around truck for the mountain place up here in Banner Elk. Will be doing some small hauling farm type stuff and mainly using it as a 2nd vehicle when we are up here. Not looking for anything fancy or putty. Needs to be 4x4 and I do want a/c. Looking to spend 5-10k.

Unlike others who seek your advice I will actually buy what you suggest. Let’s say search radius of 50 miles surrounding banner elk or Charlotte.

need to narrow down your definition of a "truck"

Mar 22, 2020, 4:57 PM

If this is a truck to you, then this is a great deal and probably would run as long as you want it to.

Nice miles and condition on this one...only negative is the engine...fine for farting around, not first choice though if you're towing heavy stuff in the mountains.

Midsize I like the Tacoma or Frontier. Nissan is 90% of the Toyota's build quality at 75% of the resale price.

Yeah, full size.

Definitely more interested in something like this in the Honda that you posted above. So what’s wrong with the engine on this one?

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nothing inherently wrong with it, it’s just down 60hp

Mar 22, 2020, 10:53 PM

On the more popular 5.4 engine from that year. It’s a heavy truck for 250hp but probably adequate with no or light towing.

gotta head out for a bit. Narrow down what you're looking
