And that really makes no sense.. it says Big 12 vs At-Large and it has no big 12 teams but they have oklahoma in Sugar.

Sugar--Fiesta Bowl -- either would be great for the Tigers!***

Since their Big 12 Champion is selected for the NC game; they get the choice to replace it with whomever they want. However, I would think Fiesta would want OK before Clemson just due to the closeness of their fans. And I would think of an Old Big 12 rivalry might be a draw as well. However, maybe they haven't been pleased with recent ticket sales to OK fans. Like other posters - Fiesta or Sugar or even Rose for that matter is great.

I could see OK vs Clemson maybe... but I think OK vs Texas A&M or LSU is more likely

The other thing to remember is their NC replacements are picked in order of ranking. I think Yahoo is making the assumption (and a good one) that if Oregon beats Stanford, Oregon State & whoever in the Championship game then Oregon will be ranked #1 and giving Rose Bowl first pick of replacement team. However, if current rankings hold then Fiesta gets first pick (due to Kansas State being #1) so they would probably take Notre Dame (I think is how it works).

And of course we still have to win two for this conversation to matter anyway.

Sugar picks before Fiesta, right?

Nov 15, 2012, 2:02 PM [ in reply to Re: Yahoo Sports has Clemson to Fiesta Bowl ]

That's why Oklahoma to Sugar.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not exactly. Fiesta will get a replacement pick before

Nov 15, 2012, 2:05 PM

Websites have been doing these bowl projections since

week 1. They at least have some relevance at this point in the season.

The bowl pickers sure seem confident we whip the chickens!!

Nov 15, 2012, 2:08 PM

And I like it!!

Go Tigers!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It may come down to who finishes #1 and who finishes #2

Nov 15, 2012, 2:14 PM

Assuming those two teams are K State and Oregon, who finishes on top will determine which bowl gets to pick first and (almost certainly) select ND.
