I think making an important decision like that based on where your girlfriend decides to go tells me who wears the britches in the relationship and how much mental effort has been put into the decision.

Yes, it definitely helped.

I think he sees that SCar, a poorly coached .500 team, just talks about contending for titles while Clemson, an emerging dynasty with 6-straight 10-win seasons, actually contends for titles. Academics, athletics, coaching, facilities, NFL exposure, and stability all favor us.
