Wouldn't Mind Having A Bruiser At Running Back.....---

Jan 4, 2020, 3:40 PM

....like Sewell at Clemson. Ohhhh the short yardage options we could create off of it.

Have you seen our Fridge package? =)***

those consistent 3rd and 3......2nd and 4 or 5 situations is when we need that kind of bruising running back that can just wear on you in those late quarters.

Agreed

We could use a hammer in the backfield. I was hoping Dukes or Mellusi could end up being that guy. Both of them and incoming freshman Bowman are all pretty much the same size - 5’11 190 lbs.. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a 6’0” 225 lbs. freshman tailback who can bust his own holes and consistently get 3-4 yards between the tackles after contact.

For whatever reason we don’t seem to recruit or attract those tailbacks.

Kobe Pryor is supposed to fill that role.

I hope you’re right

With all the guys in front of him there’s a good chance he redshirts. He could use that year to get bigger and stronger. Would love to see Pryor come in at 5’10” 225 lbs. ready to hit people.

IDK, Melussi and Dukes will have to earn a spot in the rotation, the two kids coming in both seem like upgrades.

People have the same sentiment all the time. You really need a back with a nose for the first down. Marcus Allen may be the best short yardage back there ever was and he was not very big. He also happened to be very good at just about everything else too.

im with you. the power I doesn't make for the most exciting football when it is the primary formation, but who doesn't live seeing it work with a pounder at tailback for short yardage scenarios?

Who??? We have one of the greatest running backs in the history of college football now. The talent coming in has a chance to be even better. A fat linebacker for out west is a gimmick. Gimmicks don’t win championships.
