Would you want the ACC to go to North/South divisions?

Oct 22, 2013, 7:38 PM

The South would look like this.
Miami
FSU
GA Tech
Clemson
Wake
NC ST
UNC
ND every 3 years
We have more tradition with the teams in the south than we do with BC, Cuse and UL, plus they are closer for away games. I think this would boost our recruiting in south florida as well and it would be one of the top divisions in college football. I really wouldn't care if the north was weak or not.

Oct 22, 2013, 7:51 PM

Miami would be in the championship game every year haha.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't think a division with Clemson, FSU, and Miami is

Oct 22, 2013, 7:49 PM

a smart idea. Unless Louisville can maintain or improve you are counting on VT to always be the big team on that side. I don't think that is the best idea.

badge-donor-05yr.jpgringofhonor-aero.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes!!!! It didn't take the Big 10

Oct 22, 2013, 7:55 PM

long to figure out that geography is the best way. Hopefully the ACC will too.......

Re: Yes!!!! It didn't take the Big 10

Oct 22, 2013, 8:04 PM

With strength of schedule becoming a factor i think this would be good for FSU, UM and us. And like I said, who cares about the north maybe those teams get better. Just look at the sec, the east is awful this year.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes!

Oct 22, 2013, 8:13 PM

Think of how awesome playing Miami every year would be. We've had some classic games with them. Also, FSU-Miami and Clemson-GT rivalries would have division implications, which would be good for the conference.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

NO! NO! NO! Cream puff North and a Super tough South!

Oct 22, 2013, 8:20 PM

No thanks!!!!!

^ Can't be scared of competition^

Oct 22, 2013, 8:29 PM

If you want to be the best you need to beat the best.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not scared Bro......but that north south split would mean

Oct 22, 2013, 8:35 PM

a North Champion that would be barely Bowl eligible every year. It's a "dumb as #####" idea.

Re: Not scared Bro......but that north south split would mean

Oct 22, 2013, 8:40 PM

You make no sense. If the north is cream puff one would dominate

And you accused me, of not making sense.

Oct 22, 2013, 8:50 PM

No one wants Clemson, FSU and Miami in the same division. And it will NEVER happen.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Crazy

Oct 22, 2013, 8:55 PM

I guess no one would want Bama, Texas AM, LSU, Auburn in the same division or USC, UGA, UT, and Florida in the same division what a crazy idea. Uhm it only results in better competition and the best conf. Crazy

Re: Would you want the ACC to go to North/South divisions?

Oct 22, 2013, 8:43 PM

Reality about 2016:
Atlantic = BC, Pitt, Syr, ND, NCSU, Lou-ville, Miami, VT. Coastal = CU, GT, FSU, NC, West Va, Dk, Wk, Va.
I suspect ND has to go conference. West Va will want to bolt the Big 12 for sure. Too much travel. This grouping gets bitter rivals in opposite brackets.

Oct 22, 2013, 8:45 PM

West Va can't leave big 12. We'd prob grab cinci, s fla or Ucf

Re: Would you want the ACC to go to North/South divisions?

Oct 22, 2013, 9:03 PM

No reason WV can't leave, particularly if conference wants them to go (see Maryland). ACC will not take a directional school since it does fit the bill of either big state school or big money private. Should really be the Big Head Conference.

Re: Would you want the ACC to go to North/South divisions?

Oct 22, 2013, 9:34 PM

There's plenty reason it's called Grant of Rights. West Va isn't going to give up tv revenue for 5 years not is the ACC going to take a tam that doesnt bring tv revenue for 5 years.

Actually I would love for the acc to fold up, close the doors tomorrow.

Re: Would you want the ACC to go to North/South divisions?

Oct 22, 2013, 9:01 PM

Generally I agree with that but I am afraid it is here to stay. I don't see ACC taking UCF since they are a directional school or cincy, since not enough tradition. I don't like the couch burners either but I suspect it eventually happens. They have to be tired of the big 12 and Texas already and I expect few in Texas look forward to traveling to WV for games.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

North Carolina is a directional school.***

Oct 22, 2013, 9:23 PM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There are 5 good football teams in the ACC.

Oct 22, 2013, 10:13 PM

North:
L-Ville
VA Tech

South:
Miami
FSU
CU

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Why would they change the name of the divisions when

Oct 22, 2013, 10:22 PM

The ACC stands for ATLANTIC COAST Conference. As far as conference alignment UL will go to Atlantic and ND Coastal. ( once they see it's in their best interest.)
