Would we have offered DV to SCAR if we weren't at home?

Just a thought ... it's not an unprecedented move ... NC State gave Carter Finley to East Carolina for a home game against Miami the week after Hurricane Floyd.

There's potentially...

SC State Ga Southern PC Coastal Carolina East Carolina
Maybe smaller, but you would have a better chance for local folks to make the drive.
And I do think Clemson would have offered the stadium... and then charged for the fumigation. Although I doubt they would let them use our locker room.

true I think what they did was the best of a bad situation. you minimize the travel for one team and fan base. they probably didnt really look at neutral sites much for that. and actually with what is happening in Columbia a couple days away may have had some appeal for the coot team. Clean water and good food etc

Paladin Stadium or Sirrine Stadium with a TD center TV
Oct 7, 2015, 3:20 PM
|
|
I know that sounds crazy but Greenville could have offered a goodwill of Sirrine or Paladin Stadium to USC for this weekend and due to the fact of which seat near the Capacity of WB thye could have opened the TD center for a live broadcast of the game

when the Panthers played here for a whole season.
Maybe since this is bigger than football, they might have allowed them to play.

Listen I'll work to rebuild their houses and etc. They need our support and will get it. But Memorial Stadium and Frank Howard field shall not be defiled.

I believe we would, for a few reasons...
Oct 7, 2015, 6:53 PM
|
|
1. Assuming the parking areas and facilities wouldn't be impacted, I imagine legislative pressure would be applied.
2. It would keep revenue in the state, including a nice bump for local businesses.
3. It would be one more chance for the Capons to lose in Death Valley ... they're used to it.

Because we're classy like that. But our fans would have greased the hill before they ran down.

Doubtful, if for no other reason other than the probability that drunken USCjr fans would try to damage the stadium and grounds.

It would have been an immensely magnanimous gesture, but

I don't think it could have been more than a passing thought.
Issues like what the field was painted, who provides event staff, printing tickets, etc. could be worked out.
BUT I don't think it was feasible simply because I feel sure there would be a small contingent of fans that came in intending to damage the stadium as much as watching the game.

I am extremely superstitious when it comes to sports. I wear the same outfit to every game, I don't say anything that may jinx us. If I do, I knock on wood. I know it's dumb, but I play it safe anyways. That being said, Clemson has a shot at making it to CFP (knock on wood) and I wouldn't want to curse the field (knock on wood) with coot luck. I know it's the classy thing to do, but I wouldn't want to chance it.

What does it matter? They were going to lose to the Tigers no matter which Death Valley they played in.
