Would a win against LSU in the Chikfila bowl

soften the blow of losing to the #####? I know nothing really softens that blow but I would feel pretty good beating one of SEC's "great and powerful"

Beating LSU would be huge. Would it take away all the pain & suffering of losing to the Columbia Coots? No, but it would help big time. 11-2? Top 10 preseason? Sign me up.

Agreed, especially since LSU beat them

even though they would downplay it saying "Oh, you played at a nuetral site" but a win would be awesome!

It would prove that match ups are everything in football

If Clemson beats a team that dominated Scar on the stat sheet and beat them on the scoreboard this year, then it just goes to show that how you match up at every position on the field and playing styles affects who wins the game more than who has the most talent.

Not entirely, but it would be a great way to end a season that even at 10 wins doesn't have much substance. It would give us a very quality win at a neutral site. It should also have us well inside the top 10 for next season. If we want to have any shot at the big one next year, we will need to win the bowl game, IMO.

They know how to prepare for bowl games. They have won 11 of their last 15 bowl games and are 5-0 in the Chick/Peach Bowl. Look at what they did against Miami and GT.

Yes and no. (I'll take a bowl win against anybody.)

LSU has a good football team, but nothing will take away the sting of four in a row. However, a win over a good team like LSU is always a good thing regardless of situation.

No matter what, we are set-up to play a strong SEC team.

We have one more opportunity to make a statement about this season, whether we're in the BCS against Florida or Peach against LSU, A&M, etc. A win against any of these teams will be great for Clemson. I hope we're up to the challenge.

Yes because beating LSU would be a program changing win. It would prove we can out physical a team, cuz you ain't gonna beat them with finesse. It would inspire our program to work harder than they ever have in the off season knowing that teams like LSU stand between us and our championship goals. Loss to ##### hurts but we have got to learn from it and improve.

Don't know if it would soften the blow for you guys, but it would be a huge win for Clemson - no doubt about it.
The question about match-ups up there is interesting because LSU actually is very similar to USC. Both play agressive and fast defense (rely on it mostly) and execute a plodding offense that can eat the clock and wear on an opponent.
I was in BR for the USC game. They are as physical as it gets. It was tough.
