May 28, 2014, 3:03 PM

This may give us a clue.

"When I was young, I was sure of many things; now there are only two things of which I am sure: one is, that I am a miserable sinner; and the other, that Christ is an all-sufficient Saviour. He is well-taught who learns these two lessons." -John Newton

A lot would depend on the circumstances of the opening. Leggett would need to be a part of getting him there. He likes his current job. He is a bigger Jack Leggett fan than he is a Clemson fan.

Reasons to come back
1. Much larger and dedicated fan base
2. ACC has much weaker bottom half of the conference, easier path to NCAA
3. Knows the state
4. Perennially strong program

Reasons not to come back
1. Has built his own program, he is the first Tim Corbin. No shadow of previous coaches.
2. Money will not be substantial better.
3. Owns his rivalry and his state. He has made UT irrelevant.
4. Is in the strongest conference in the country for his sport.
5. Hesitantcy over how the fan base has treated his mentor.

Unknowns

1. Is he enjoying big city or does he want to be back in small college town setting?
2. Does family enjoy Nashville?
3. Relationship with Vandy admin and what kind of promises have they made to him? Support he has asked for and not gotten?

He and his wife like Nashville. He has a good relationship and Vandy Administration has committed to helping his program.

As to 1 and 4 under reasons to come back, he told LSU he wasn't interested.

As to number 1 under unknowns, he turned down Auburn.

Absolutely NO chance, imo. Just no reason to.*******

Why would we want him?

May 28, 2014, 5:13 PM

His coaching style is almost identical to Jack's. If you want a new coach, why would you want a guy who is essentially the same?

Exactly

Both Corbin and Sullivan have demonstrated to have the Leggett Stain.

Try these two clues on for size:
Is Jack leaving?
Is he going to be fired at the end of the season?

Those two clues would lead me to think no one is coming to Clemson anytime soon!

maybe
