Without accounting for Louisville's recruits from....

transfers, prison outreach, etc., or early departures to the NFL for us (or them), I wanted to see the recruiting averages for both these teams. I thought this might be one good way to measure depth. We've seen the enormous difference recruiting depth has made for Clemson the last few years. Saw it last night on display, especially on defense. I used Rivals' data.
Average recruiting rankings from 2013 class to 2016 class:
Clemson: 9.25
Louisville: 36.25
Total number of 4 star (or better) recruits from 2013 class to 2016 class:
Clemson: 43
Louisville: 9
Of course, FSU's numbers would probably look better than ours in comparison to UL.
My data also does not take into account the fact that Lamar Jackson only played his D game against FSU and they still beat FSU 63-17, um, -20 (sweet FG, Jimbo). If Jackson plays just his B- game, then we have no shot whatsoever. If he plays his A game, Death Valley will crumble to the ground and Clemson will have to quit football.
