How do you know Tommy Bowden would not have hired him. At the rate he was going he was going to try every offensive and defensive coordinator in the nation.

Huh?
Bowden was too loyal to anyone that did not work out. Except Mike O'Cain, who he put directly in the line of fire to protect B Scott, IMO.
O'Cain got his revenge @ VT when Proctor was our QB, though.
Had Bowden tried like you mentioned, or had an idea how to, he would have done what Dabo did as interim coach.

a simple question but the fact he hired the best coordinators money could buy does lend itself to this conclusion!

I was thinking about that tonight. Very fortunate to have him. I was watching some of the USUC game and the thought crossed my mind "I am very thankful the old drunk does not have Brent as his defensive coordinator."

My only suggestion would be that we substitute to a greater degree in the back seven more during games.
