does this widen the opportunity we see us go outside for our new OC? I think it does, with Scott being named co-OC and receiving a nice raise

I think this probably means Jeff Scott is our new OC since he didn't go to SMU.

Would have the say in play call? I feel like this would be having 2 QB, because no one person calls plays the same way. Not sure though

A co-OC would entail a title and involvement in game

planning. Only one person would call plays. We need a QB coach regardless, and most OC's also serve as QB coach. No one on our staff has ever coached QB's

I don't see why Scott would want to be co-OC

I imagine he's ready to be promoted OC. I'm not sure why people don't think he could handle it. I mean, Chad's making a graduate assistant his OC but Scott isn't ready? Yeah right.

here, if it's Scott, I'm fine with that. I do believe with the threat removed of Scott being the OC at SMU we do see Dabo go through the full process and he'll hire the guy he feels gives us the best shot. Problem with Scott being the OC is he hasn't coached QB's, and that is normally the OC's job. This is why I think there is a possibility we go outside. Scott would get the title of co-OC and no doubt he's getting a raise. Title's are for resume's pure and simple

Promote Jeff Scott to OC immediately! He is so valuable on the recruiting trail with his success with our WR's in the NFL. This does not need to be delayed with 2 months until signing day. I say bring Keshawn Johnson over to the staff to coach WR's. It's clear Clemson is where his son wants to attend, and Johnson has been seen in and around Clemson very often in the past few months. He also could prove as a very valuable recruiter given his time in the NFL.
